Why Slovenia and Croatia?

Experience two neighbouring countries on beautiful Adriatic coast

  • Carniolan bee (Apis mellifera carnica ), second only to the Italian bee (Apis mellifera ligustica) is the world's most widespread subspecies of the honey bee.
  • Under close supervision of the aforementioned breeding authorities, Carniolan queens are reared by some thirty Slovenian breeders. 
  • Beekeeping in Croatia has a long tradition. Today more than 12.500 apiarists are connected through 147 cooperative associations to the Croatian Beekeepers' Association.
  • Due to various regions more than 20 types of honey are being produced in Croatia, such as acacia, sage, chestnut, lavender, linden and rosemary honey.
