Why Sicily?

Land of Black Sicilian Bee, endless beaches and rich ancient history.

With an ancient tradition of honey production, Sicily is a special place for honey lovers.
The Sicilian black bee (“Apis mellifera siciliana”) has a dark abdomen, yellow down and small wings, it it is docile and very productive, even in hot weather.
Etna is the tallest active volcano in Europe. “Active” is certainly the right word to describe it—the last eruption with lava occurred at the end of November 2013, but almost every year the volcano shows some sign of activity.
Agrigento is Sicily's most famous Greek site, therefore named "Valley of the Temples" and protected unter UNESCO World Haritage.
Extra-virgin olive oil, juicy red oranges and the sweet grapes of Canicattì, Pachino tomatoes and Pantelleria capers, prickly pears and the olives of Nocellara del Belice are some of the excellent products that distinguish Sicilian food.
Zafferana »honey village« has 8000 inhabitants and 350 beekeepers. The production of honey is, in fact, the main source of income in the local economy; a driving force that has brought the goodness of this land even beyond national borders.
